I Wrote a Book Because…

I always knew that one day I would come up with an idea for a book that could & would be real and published in the market. I decided that “one day” would be “today” and started the journey.

I was an early reader. At age three, I was reading Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site, Put Me in The Zoo, and Dog Man: Lord of the Fleas. Those inspired me by age four to read harder books, like Plants Vs. Zombies: Lawnmageddon and Wayside School is Falling Down already! By age five, I read every book in the Plants vs. Zombies series by Paul Tobin and the Bad Kitty series by Nick Bruel. I loved reading since I was little and knew I had fiction stories to tell, too!

I came up with the idea of “Papaya Man” in preschool and my mom and I made a comic book called “Super Papaya Man” of the character. That’s when he was born!

Years later, during summer vacation, all things were fun. My eighth birthday, a vacation to Greece, and lifting weights while watching TV. But that summer was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot. Too hot. I wanted to stay inside for my health!  I passed the time by working on a choose-your-own-adventure book. It started off as a side project. But I wanted it to be real and something that I could publish and accomplish my dream!

The first and hardest part was to create and finish an outline of the book. I wanted it to be long and complicated with lots of different crazy endings! It took me over a month to finish the outline and character list, but it was the most important part! Phew! I was so glad when we were done!

So after the outline, it became real: I was making a published book! With happy endings, sad endings, annoying endings, stupid endings, impossible endings, endings with fart jokes, and many more endings that suit everybody.

My cousins are always a big help – Christos known for his strength, Stelios for his intelligence, and Dio for his comedy. They also wanted to help, but I don’t think they would do well, so I said no.

JUST KIDDING! My cousins are the best helpers ever! Christos helps me learn about my soon-to-be favorite movies, Stelios can use his awesome math skills to count all our money, candy, and video games, and Dio is always there when I need a good laugh (or a helping hand at hard Roblox obbies!) So, how could I not say yes?

One day, they came over to help with ideas for my book. They wanted to put their characters in my book! And you guessed it, I said yes!

So, with the help of my mom, my dad, my dog (Response: *lick lick lick lick lick lick*), my relatives Cassandra and Gigi, my cousins, our publishing team, and of course MYSELF, I successfully finished my book. Make sure that Parker’s robots don’t steal all the copies in February 2024!
